"It has become appallingly obvious that our technology has exceeded our humanity.ö- Albert Einstein.
The fascination of "I-ROBOT" seems to be propelling the "Romeo-Juliet" pairs at the frontier of destruction. In this era, we may find one day ourselves, captivated by the robots in a dehumanized society.
Have a glance at the children- naughty cute boys are vanished and a billion of so called good boys are busy with their computer classes, paints, playing horror and fighting games, chatting in internet etc. Now, in the park, fields, hardly a group of boys or girls are visible playing together and breathing the essence of life. Now they are ready to play with computer with minimum effort with the tagline-'we are racing ahead of time'. Computer like a 'Selfish Giant'(by Oscar Wilde)is ready to engulf the child and make their childhood as ice-cold winter.
Now,we, the crazy engineers, more precisely IT professionals are creeping behind the bars of small desk and a COMPUTER. Software engineer, far from the soft tune of life style, are coding and debugging like a prisoner in front of the red eyed signal of project manager (comparable to jailor!!). When we make a gossip about a suicide news of some IT professionals, we may look forward with a comment like-"After all, life is battle for existence and it's not for spineless creature!". Can we?
About 8 hour company of computer like a vampire throughout a day left a software engineer exhausted and may be, his family gets fired when he sleeps peacefully at the end of this rat-race. So,it's not far away that he may discover himslef in the wonderland of dehumanized society, only comparable to hell to a passionate human being!
Now Robotics and artificial intelligence, the latest spledid, spell-bound googly of science, has a promising future in case of moulding the prototype of dehumanized society. Now we hope that robots are wandering here and there just like a human being in streets, shopping mall etc and someone is asking in a mechanical voice "can i help you sir/mam?" instead of a human being. Just imagine!!
But,finally, instead of all this shortcomings and demerits by the use of computer, we can't halt this technological progress. In this age of Big-bang, we can't roar for employment news and soothe the jobless politically, just for computer has replaced them cheaply!
ôThe Roots of Violence: Wealth without work, Pleasure without conscience, Knowledge without character, Commerce without morality, Science without humanity, Worship without sacrifice, Politics without principlesö
- Mahatma Gandhi
