Why proud to be an Indian?

India-the incredible nation. Be a citizen of this great country is really a matter of proud.There are numerous reasons which prompt me to think so.Let’s start from the ancient time.India is the country where kings like Chandragupta Maurya,Ashoka-the great were born who had shown their supremacy all over the world.Chankya-the founder of economics and Aryabhatta- the great mathematician,who had discovered zero,the most fantastic digit in number system were also the son of this fertile land. Right from that ancient time, India has always attracted the foreigners who wander in search of truth and cognizance.All the Vedas and Upnisdas are written in this country,which serve as the guidelines of the do’s and the don’t’s.

Now moving out of ancient time and looking into contemporary India, we see that it is growing day by day.The signing of N-deal even after such emphatic global oppose is the biggest testimony of it. We have world class engineers, doctors, scientists, who are working deligently to put India on the top of the world.We have premire institutes like IIT and IIM whose scholars have hoisted the flag of Indian intelligency all over the world. India’s first successful lunar mission CHANDRAYAN shows that ISRO is not much far behind NASA. By this successful launch India has joined the exclusive club of some advanced nations like USA, France, capable of conducting their own space mission. India has the world’s third strongest armed forces, equipped with modern warfares,sophisticated fighter planes and misseles. It has even developed its own light combat aircraft “TEJAS”

Not only technologically sound, we have a great architectural heritage too. The Taj Mahal-one of the seven wonders of world, caves of Ajanta and Allora, Lal quila have always been a centre of attraction and curiosity for tourists of all over the world. From cultural point of view ,we are equally well-fluorished. India is often called the land of festivals.Despite of huge diversity prevailing here, the feeling of being an Indian binds all of us together.winning of Booker prize by Arvind Adiga for his fabulous work ‘The white tiger’ establishing of wax idols of many Indian celebrities in Madam tusad wax museum,winning the prestigious Oscar award by slumdog millionaire itself tells the success story of Indians in every walk of life.So having such a glorious history,fast growing present and a splendid future,why should I not proud to be an INDIAN?
